After all the rain leading up to the show, the sun shone and the show went ahead at Crealy Park. They had kindly mown a field for us but due to the soft ground an alternative field was used and all the ponies thought they had landed in heaven with the long grass.
With 76 ponies forward it was a lovely day with even more new faces.
A big well done to all those that came and supported the show and well done to our supreme champion of the day, J & D Hodges miniature mare Keensacre Eclipse with F & C Hodder’s miniature 3 yr old colt reserve.
A Thank you to Mr & Mrs Wright for judging the Shetland classes and to Mr D Hodge for stepping in at the last minute to judge the American Miniature/Spotted classes with Mrs S Cozens placing any ponies that may have had connections to the judge.
I would also like to thank the Wessex Shetland Pony Group for being kind enough to allow us the use of their tent, following ours being damaged beyond repair in May.
With the little bit of excitement in the middle of the days showing, can I say how nice it was that everyone pulled together to rectify the situation quickly. One thing that is nice is the spirit of the shows and how everyone pulls together in a crisis.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the show on July 20th
