Show Report 20th July 2008

After all the weather yet again leading up to the show, the sun shone and the show went ahead at Crealy Park. They had kindly mown our usual field for us but due to the weather they had been unable to bale the grass and we were resited back on to our original site by the car park. Families visiting Crealy couldn’t resist a wander across the field for the children to see the ponies.
With 59 ponies forward it was a lovely day, especially with so many other shows on this weekend with a few more new faces.
A big well done to all those that came and supported the show and well done to our supreme champion of the day, A Runnalls and F Hammonds 3yr old miniature colt Tawna Rubus with E Blamey’s 3yr old midi gelding Collytown Free Spirit as reserve.
A Thank you to Mrs S Seward with Mr S Rendell probationing and Mrs J Elliot for judging the Shetland classes and to Mr C Seward for judging the American Miniature/Spotted classes.
I would also like to thank the Wessex Shetland Pony Group for being kind enough again to allow us the use of their tent, although in the middle of the days showing, the wind decided to try and take the tent to Exeter Airport, but it was lovely to see everyone grabbed a leg each and dismantled the tent quickly and effectively without any problems.
One thing I know I say every time, is how nice the spirit of the shows is and how everyone pulls together in any situation, certainly makes all the hard work worthwhile.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the show on September 7th – don’t forget at this show is the accumulator points awards for the 4 shows. You have to be in it to win it!!!!
